Happy Birthday Daddy!

Yesterday was Jason's birthday! We celebrated by spending the day together as a family. It was super cold outside, so we played inside most of the day except for a quick trip to Best Buy. Then, Griffin went to spend the night with GiGi and Papa J while we went to dinner with neighbors and to a bowling party. We had a good time, but I must say it had nothing on Triangle Bowl after bid day (anyone remember??). Then today we had Jason's family over for dinner. We grilled steaks and veggies and I made scalloped potatoes. For dessert I made Jason's favorite, bread pudding! It was a great weekend!!! I am so thankful for my sweet husband. He works so hard so that I can stay home and take care of our son. Nothing brings tears to my eyes and warms my heart more than seeing the man I've loved for more than 10 years become such an amazing father. We love you Daddy!!!!

Had to post this picture of Aunt Lauren and Uncle B with growing Baby Jackson (doesn't she look precious)!

Rainy Days

On yucky days like this Griffin sure is glad he has this precious new rain coat (thanks Mimi) to keep him warm and dry while momma drags him to the Y, Mother's Day Out tours, HEB, the playground at the mall...you know the usual!

I SMELL...

T-R
O-U
B-L
EEEEEEE!!!!!
Our sweet stinker is on the move and into everything! Some of his personal favorites include dog food, water of any kind, toilet paper, and sneaking out the front door. I didn't do a ten month update so here are some things Griffin has been up to lately:
- crawling normal now but prefers to walk around using his walker or a by suckering a family member to hold his hands and off he goes!!!
- trying to go down to one nap a day...mommy is not so sure about this, but at least it's a long one
- loves eating all types of food, weird things include sour pickles, gorgonzola cheese, sesame bagels, lemons, artichoke hearts, ect. What can I say, he's his momma's child!!!
- recognizes simple words/commands: Jeter, ball, Elmo, No, and lots of family members names
- says dada and mama to the correct person... sometimes
- still hates the nursery at the Y, but I'm vowing to go everyday this week so hopefully by Friday he will be more use to it and my thighs will be a little smaller ;)
- creeping along the furniture and pulling up on EVERYTHING!
- has stood independently for a few seconds at a time...until he realizes what he's doing!
- still loves being outside to play
- graduated from a Bug to a Bird at Little Gym
- loves to cuddle when he's sleepy...I cherish these moments as I see them fading the more active/independent he becomes
This is such a fun age! We love our sweet, spunky, happy little guy so much, and we can't believe he's almost 11 months old!!!

Christmas with the Austins!

We spent Christmas at Inks Lake with my family this year. It was so nice to all be together in one place. This was such a special Christmas because it was the first one for Griffin as well as my nephews Carson and Lyndon! We had such an amazing time just relaxing, playing games, eating, talking, eating, going for walks, eating, and just being together! Griffin got lots of fun new toys, a big boy chair, a special blanket and cute clothes. We will cherish the special memories of his first Christmas for a lifetime!

I can't figure out how to put a caption below this last one, but this was one of Griffin's favorite toys given to him from Uncle Luke and Aunt Linds. His name is Scout and he's so precious!
