Griffin and I went to see Parker and Allison for the boys first play date. Even though there wasn't much playing going on...we had a great time. Allison and I took the boys to eat Mexican food, and they both slept the whole time. It was so nice to catch up and share the day with someone who's going through the same stage of life! Parker is such a precious baby. We can't wait for many more fun times together!

8 week check up

Griffin had his 8 week check up today. The doctor said everything is right on track and he's a very healthy baby. He now weighs 12 pounds 7 ounces and he is in the 70 percentile for weight! He is 23.5 inches and the 73 percentile for height. We have no idea how we had such a big baby with the two of us, but it is a comfort to know he's getting plenty to eat and growing like a little weed. The worst part of course was the shots. :( It just KILLED us to watch him in pain, but I will say he was over it by the time we got in the car. Griffin's taking a long nap now, poor thing is worn out!

Bath Time!

I just wanted to post a few cute pics of Griffin at bath time. He loves the bath and looks just like a cute little man soaking in his tub. He is so much more aware of his surroundings this past week, smiling and cooing up a storm. He thinks his mommy is really funny, and I just eat it up!!! It's amazing to see how much he is learning. He mimics our facial expressions and we have our own little conversations. We go to the doctor on Wednesday and I can't wait to see how much he's grown. I love my little boy so much and have no idea what I ever did without him!

Easter wore me out!

Easter was extra special this year! We went to church and Griffin slept throught he whole service. He received a special blessing at communion, and he looked so cute in his special outfit MiMi picked out for him. We went to Jason's Aunt Heather's for Easter Dinner and the family egg hunt. Griffin got to see so many friends and family memebers. Lauren and Gigi took him on the egg hunt and he got a special egg from Nana. He was such a good baby all day, and was worn out by the time we got home. Easter is such a special time and a reminder of the ultimate blessing God gave to the world. I guess now that I have my own son, I realize even more how much love God has for us, that he would sacrifice his only son so that we might live forever in his kingdom. I hope you all had a blessed Easter!

This weekend, Papa J showed Griffin how to find his thumb. It was so cute to watch how excited he was once he found it, and how frustrated he gets when he can't. We are still trying to find it on our own. Griffin has also been smiling up a storm. There's nothing like the feeling you get when you make your baby smile. :)

I just had to report that last night I got 7 hours of sleep!!!! This is HUGE as I have been averaging around 4-5 hours. Griffin has been having trouble sleeping soundly for more than about an hour at a time in his bassinet. My mom suggested putting Griffin on his tummy. Of course with all the reading you do on SIDS, I was paranoid, but decided to try it for nap time yesterday so I could watch him. He easily turned his head back and forth several times so I felt better about it. He slept 3 hours!!! Then last night he went down on his tummy and slept two four hour stretches. Only waking up to eat and going right back down. This morning he was stirring so I got him up and Jason wanted to cuddle him before he had to get up for work. I had to snap a picture of the two of them sleeping! Priceless!!!
