I'm determined to finish this vacation post, so here goes...
One of our favorite things to do while in CO is to drive up the road to Dunton Meadows. It is a gorgeous drive up a dirt mountain road to a place that is just beyond words. I always think God must have spent his day of rest here because it just has his presence and special touch. We always go up early to look for mushrooms and pick flowers. Then we cook hamburgers or chili dogs and have smores. This year, Jason, Uncle Trav, and Griff stayed after we left and camped overnight. This Momma was VERY nervous and I don't think I slept much that night. I knew Griff was in the best of hands but we had already seen two bears in nearby creeks and it was COLD. Turns out Griff did great, after some spooky campfire stories and three layers of clothes. He still talks about camping in the mountains!
Ella was happy with her camp chair and snacks by the campfire

Smores
The next day Conner, Leslie, Carson, and Lyndon finally got there! The kids were so happy to be together and let the crazy fun begin! They loved eating together on the picnic table on the deck and playing cowboys and indians with cap guns. I LOVE that our kids are so close in age and are truly best buddies!
