Griffin's Last Ultrasound

We went for our last ultrasound yesterday, and it was so great to see our little one again. He has grown so much, weighing in at 3 lbs 10 oz. He was sucking his thumb AGAIN, that's 3 times now (you can see it in the picture)! The doctor said everything looks perfect and right on track, what a blessing! The blood clot has resolved so we don't have to worry about that any more either. I can't believe we have only 2 months before we get to meet our precious baby! Time is definitely flying by. We have so much to be thankful for this holiday season, and I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas!

Babymoon

Momma and Griffin at the Golden Gate Bridge

Jason eating Dim Sum! Yummy!

Knocked up and Locked up on The Rock!- Alcatraz

Beautiful day at the beach

Jason and I decided we wanted one last "getaway" for the two of us. We have some friends who were engaged in San Francisco, and hearing about their amazing time made us really want to visit. We left on the Friday before Thanksgiving and came back that next Monday. We had the most amazing time together. San Fran is such a wonderful city and the weather was beautiful. The only downfall I will say is that we stayed at the top of Nob Hill, yes HILL is an understatement. Leaving the hotel was no problem, trying to walk back to the hotel was like climbing Mt. Everest, especially when your packing a few extra pounds in the front. :) Anyway, this trip helped us remember how much we love to travel and explore new places together. We went down to the wharf, took a ferry to Alcatraz, went to the marina where my sweet Aunt June lived for many years, saw the Golden Gate Bridge, ate LOTS of amazing food, experienced Dim Sum, saw Grace Cathedral and walked the labyrinth, and shopped at Union Square just to name a few. It was a quick trip, but such a blessing. With all the hustle and bustle of everyday life, it was great to get away together and remember why we love each other so much! Babymoon success!!!

Our First Baby

Jeter Peter Pumpkin Stem Eater!

"This is hard work Mom, can I have a break now?"

Aunt Nicole asked for some pics of Jeter and the nursery, so by special request, I took some today. The other day Lisa was talking about how kids are so funny because of all the toys they have to play with, sometimes the laundry basket or cardboard box is the most fun. Well, Jeter is our only baby for now and it holds true even for him. For the past two weeks, his favorite toy has been the stem of our long gone pumpkin. It is hard as a rock and he carries it around everywhere. Cracks me up, so I had to snap a few pics. Of course as you can see in the second picture, he's already tired out after a few minutes of posing for pictures. I also put a few pics of the nursery in here. We are still waiting on the bedding to be finished, but the paint and furniture are in, minus the glider. Jason found the motor cycle and truck and said Griffin has to have these. We're planning on putting up some shelving so they'll move up there once we have that in. I can't wait to see it all put together. I'll post more pictures when we get the bedding in!

Growing Griffin

Well, I finally found the time to add a new photo of my growing belly. Griffin is very active these days, or should I say nights. He really loves to practice his soccer moves at around 4 am. I LOVE feeling him move no matter when it happens, it's like my own little blessing!

Renaissance Festival

This weekend we decided to venture out of our "normal" life and go with some friends to the Renaissance Festival. It was definitely an adventure but we actually had a really fun time. To say that it was a "people watching place" is the understatement of the year. There were lots of fun things to do, weird people to stare at, and really yummy food (hence the roasted corn). I guess we should venture out more often, but don't worry, you won't find us dressed up like a pirate or fairy, hee hee!

The Baby Bump

Well, many of you wanted a belly shot, so here you go! I am at the very weird stage where NOTHING fits, yet most maternity clothes are still too big. I just look like I've been eating one too many fried Twinkies. Poor Jason, he hears me complaining every time I get dressed and does a good job of convincing me that I'm just a "hot little momma".

Mighty Man...

Here is a 3-D ultrasound picture of Griffin! We know he looks a bit like an alien still, but we think he's precious. We were cracking up because it kind of looks like he flexing his arm muscle. He was also trying to suck his thumb the whole time we were in there. It was so amazing to see him so clearly!

Starting a Family...and a Blog!

I suppose starting a family is just as good a time as any to also start a blog! With the pleading of several dear friends, I decided to take the time this Sunday to create our family blog. Jason and I found out in June that we are expecting our first child! We were excited beyond words, and very thankful for this precious blessing. I am now 19 weeks pregnant, and we found out we're having a BOY!!!! Wow! The surprises just keep coming. I can't tell you the look of pride and joy on Jason's face when he found out he was having a son, but I'll never forget it! We have decided to name him Griffin James Stephens. It was actually quite easy to choose a name. We knew we wanted the middle name to be James after Jason's dad. Then, we were on vacation in Colorado and saw a precious little boy. We asked his mom his name and she told us it was Griffin. We both instantly fell in love and it's been Griffin ever since. This is such an exciting time in our lives, and we look forward to sharing it with you through pictures and posts on our blog.
