My lips are sealed

If you've read my blog in the past, you know how I've talked about the funny way our precious son never closes his mouth. Well, he's finally learned how...kind of. He started doing this trick with his lips where he sucks his bottom lip in. It's really cute and I know that someday my little one will get it all figured out, but in the meantime, he keeps us laughing everyday! Also, Griffin turned five months old yesterday! I can't believe how fast time flies. We had a big day to celebrate. We went swimming at Uncle Luke's (notice the precious camo crocks courtesy of Aunt Lauren and Uncle B), went to eat Mexican food, and tried oatmeal for the first time! I gave him the spoon to play with for a while before starting so maybe he wouldn't think it was so weird. Not sure much of the oatmeal actually made it in his mouth, because he spit most of it out, but he kept opening his mouth and pulling the spoon towards it like he wanted more. I'm sure after a few more tries he'll love it! :)

Visit to Mimi and Pop's

Reading books with Mimi

Pop feeding me my bottle

Swimming in my star float

I love Aunt JuJu!

Jason had to go to Scotland for work so Griffin and I traveled to Midland for a visit with Mimi and Pop. I was also excited for Griffin to get to meet his great aunt JuJu and great uncle Jurgen. We had a wonderful visit, and Griffin enjoyed JuJu's special foot rubs. :) Griffin got lots of swim time in the hot tub and was spoiled up by his grandparents. It's hard to be so far away, but it makes these times together so special!

4th of July Fun and a Pool Party

We had a great Fourth of July at the lake. We went out on the boat during the day and grilled out every night at the house. It was nice and relaxing. Griffin tried out his new life jacket, and he's not really a fan. :) I didn't get many pictures. Yesterday Matt, Nicole, and Avery were in town so we all went over to Eric's for a pool party. It was so nice to catch up and get the kids together. They grow and change so fast!

Here's my cool new life jacket!

Maybe it's not so cool anymore...

Three mommies and their babies

Griffin and Parker...you'd never know Griff is a month older

Hmm...very hard to get a group shot, but this is the best we could do

Special Visitors, the Amazing Excersaucer, and Adventures with Sophie

Dimples, yep still got 'em! Sophie the famous giraffe

She even tastes good!

Concentration and a little bit of drool

This is fun!

Cuddles with Les

I had so much fun with Aunt Les and Aunt Lane!
Ok, so a friend of mine, Lauren, swore that these rubber giraffes were the best baby toy ever! All my friends who had babies before me agreed, but I wasn't so sure. Truth be told, it looks like a dog toy and squeaks like one too. Jeter is very jealous of this toy in particular. However, I will now say she's right, Griffin loves his Sophie! He likes to try to put her whole head in his mouth and it's easy for him to grab. We also decided to get out the Excersaucer and he LOVES it. Luckily he's tall enough that we don't need the phone book anymore and he loves cooing at and playing with all the toys. The first day he wasn't sure how to turn the seat around, but he's mastered that now. It's nice to have when I'm cooking dinner, he stays in the kitchen with me and plays. We also had a wonderful visit with Leslie and Lane last weekend. It was the first time for Lane to meet Griffin and he loved the extra attention from his pretty aunties. They were so good with them and it made me so happy to see them enjoy him. Griffin was on his best behavior, so I'm just hoping some baby fever rubbed off on them! :) They're going to kill me for that....
