Baby in the Bluebonnets

Griffin went on his first road trip this past weekend. We went to the lake house with Gigi and Papa J and then Saturday we headed to San Antonio for Conner's 30th birthday party. We drove back to the lake Saturday night. We had a great weekend, but we were worn out! The amount of things you need for one tiny baby is unbelievable. It was a beautiful spring day and we to stopped on the way home to take some pictures of Griffin in the bluebonnets.

Smiles, Tears, and Puppy Dogs

MiMi and Griffin in his shoes!

Jeter squeezed his way onto the play mat!

Sweet Precious Angel

I can't believe our little man is already 4 weeks old. Time has flown by and we can't believe how much he has already grown and changed. He is so alert and recognizes our voices. He has has started giving little smiles which just melts my heart, even though all the books say it is involuntary or just gas...The saddest thing is that Griffin's tear ducts are now working and I can't help but shed some with him when I see little tears come out of his eyes. That's tough!!! Jeter has been adjusting to life with a baby in the house. Poor thing, he's no spring chicken and just wants some sleep. He's been so good with Griffin, and I know they'll be great buddies. My parents came in town on their way back from a vacation in Mexico. We had a great visit, but I know Griffin misses MiMi and Pop already!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Play Time
I'm wearing my green so I won't get pinched!

I like to hold my head up like a big boy!

Yesterday was St. Patrick's day and Griffin and I were excited that Allison and her little bun in the oven, Parker came over for a visit. We are so excited for Parker to be born cause we know the boys will be great buds! Griffin has grown so much already and he is becoming very alert and staying awake for longer periods of time during the day. This is great, cause that means he is also sleeping better at night. :) I am enjoying staying at home with him during the day. Who knew staring at a precious baby all day could be so entertaining?! The days fly by and by the time Jason gets home we are both pooped. I am so thankful I can spend this time with him and watch him discover new things every day!

2.5 Week Update

Sleeping with Mom
Aunt Mel was a huge help!
Hanging out in his crib!
Papa J working his baby magic!

Griffin is a growing boy! We went to our second visit with the pediatrician and he now weighs 8 pounds 12 ounces. It is a relief to know he's getting enough to eat and growing strong. He loves to sleep in his swing, ride in the car, look around his room, and discover new toys. We gave him his first real bath and he loved it!!! Much better than those old sponge baths! He has had many visitors, including his GiGi and Papa J, Aunt Mel came to stay with us for 2 nights, and many other friends and family. We are so in love with our little boy, and I thank God a million times a day for this precious blessing!

Promised Pictures

Tummy Time
Visit from family

Griffin and Pop
I promised my dad, "Pop" that I would post a picture of him and Griffin. He was so good with him and they took many naps together on the couch. My mom left today so it's time to settle into being a mom on my own now. I don't know what I would have done without her. I can't ever thank her enough for all she has done for Griffin and me. We are so fortunate because Griffin's other grandma GiGi is coming over tonight and bringing her famous spaghetti and meatballs for dinner. Yummy! We are so blessed!

Baby Update

First Bath-- WAAAA!!!
Sleeping with Daddy

Headed Home

Precious Face

We came home from the hospital on Wednesday of last week, and boy was it good to be home. Griffin has been the most perfect baby. Sure he's a newborn, and we're sleep deprived and our brains are like jelly, but we are enjoying every moment of it! This past weekend Jason's sister Lauren got married and we were so thrilled to make the wedding. It was absolutely beautiful and Lauren and Brandon were the picture of perfect love. Griffin spent his first night in the hotel, and MiMi, my mom, was the perfect baby sitter. Hopefully things are going to settle down a little and we'll get a better sense of normal baby life. We feel overwhelmed with the blessing of our precious son and couldn't love anything more. Jason continues to be the perfect daddy, involved in every way. Looking at him with our son makes my heart burst with love for them both. Thanks to everyone for all the love and support over the past few days. Sorry for not returning phone calls or sending more pics, but we are just beginning to get our heads above water. :) Griffin has his first appointment with the pediatrician tomorrow and pictures on Wednesday!
