Summer Fun

Summer is in full effect around here, and we are taking advantage! I love the flexibility and lack of schedule that comes with summer. No MDO or scheduled activities means lazy mornings, lots of pool and splash park time, and late nights playing outside. Griffin has been in swim lessons since February and is now an official swimmer. He is a FISH and asks every morning what pool we are going to that day! Ha. One Sunday we took him to the Houstonian to swim and he swam 4 hours straight and did the water slide probably 200 times! Ella LOVES the water too. She wears her puddle jumper and kicks her feet to take her where ever she wants to go. Miss Independent does not want help and even went down the water slide all by herself!!!! Jason and I love the water, and we are so happy our kids share that love as well. I'm sure by the end of summer we will all be completely water logged!

Take me out to the ballgame...

I'm WAY behind on my blog but I finally downloaded all my iphone pictures and I'm going to attempt to catch up, or at least pick up from where I left off! This spring, Griffin played his first season of T ball. He was on the Orioles with his best buddy RJ. It was the cutest thing I think I've ever seen, and we had a lot of great laughs too! Griff really enjoyed the games and did a great job hitting the ball and fielding. We were SO proud of him!!!

All geared up for his first game. Daddy took him to Academy and probably went a little overboard on all the gear. Jason loved playing baseball through high school so this was especially fun for him!

Griffin was talking to Coach Cliff and later the coach told us Griffin told him, "You know I'm like a famous baseball player...like I'm on TV"! Ha

Little Miss Ella didn't want to miss out on anything and was not too happy when she couldn't be on the team!

Calling All Superheros!

We decided to do a joint birthday party for Ella and Griffin this year (get away with it while we can type of thing)! Honestly they have a lot of the same sibling friends and are so close in age that it worked out perfectly! The party was at Westwood Gymnastics, their favorite place ever, on February 23rd (yes, I'm still behind). Griffin is really into superheroes right now and Ella is basically into anything Griffin is into. :) I wanted to make sure it was still appropriate for boys and girls so we had plenty of pink and purple, red and blue in the decor. I made superhero capes for party favors (seemed like a good idea until we had 35 kids coming and only 2 who couldn't). But, the kids LOVED them and they looked really cute during the party. Several moms have told me their kids play with them all the time so I guess it was worth all the cutting and gluing! My mom and I made the cupcakes and special little cakes for Griff and Ella, and I thought they turned out super cute. The kids had a great time playing, running, tumbling, swinging, ect and eating pizza and cupcakes. The party was a huge success and we are done for another year! :) After it was over both sides of our families came over for a pinata and to open presents. The kids played till 9:30 and no one had a problem going to bed that night!! WARNING...get ready for picture overload!
