Rico 2012- Part 1

On August 15th, we packed our bags and headed for the Rockies for our annual summer vacation with my family.  This year was extra special because over the past 3 years our cabin has been completely remodeled and it's finally finished.  It went from being a tiny miners cabin, to a beautiful, livable, perfect for grandkids house!  We were blown away and so thankful to my parents for their time, money, and hard work in making this dream a reality.
Our flight left Houston at 5:45 am, so we woke the kids up and left the house at 3 am, ouch!  They both did AMAZING on both flights and the 1.5 drive to Rico.  We were there by 9:15am so it really gave us an extra day!  My Aunt Annie and Uncle Mark had been there helping my parents so we overlapped a couple days.  They are so good with Griff and Ella and we had a lot of fun with them!  Here are a few pics from our first couple days.

The first morning it was 36 degrees when we got up...brrrrr

The town has a great playground and we took the kids to play there almost everyday.

We did some work leveling the backyard to help with drainage and these two had fun in the wheel barrow
Griff on the new front deck showing off the new paint job!
Ella loved playing rocks with Great Aunt Annie
Eating lasagna fireside...pretty nice!
Griff and Mimi roasted marsh mellows and made smores
This is right behind our cabin...so beautiful.  Mark and Ann took Ella for a stroller ride and decided to four wheel drive a bit
